The Investigation Into South Carolina Panthers Continues…
Posted by lowcountryhunting on June 17, 2008
Many people believe that there are panthers living in South Carolina. And many people believe that there are crazy people living in South Carolina who believe there are panthers.
I wrote about lowcountry panthers before, and now it seems that the Bluffton Breeze has done its own investigation. Check out this recent story about panther sightings in the lowcountry. One of the outdoorsmen they interviewed was my friend and cousin Marion Gohagan of Gohagan’s Guide Service who I posted about just a few weeks ago here.
Let the debate continue…

The same kind of debate goes on up here in WV! Some say there are panthers, others say you are crazy if you believe it…I’ve not seen one, but I will keep my eyes open!

We have a similar debate here in Michigan about whether cougars exist. It is always interesting to sit around a campfire and listen to the different stories and opinions:)

I think they’re out there. Some folks back home in Wilmington, NC got photos on game cam… but of course the danged animal won’t stand still for a perfect mugshot, so the pictures are considered “inconclusive”.
Considering the number of mountain lions we have here in CA, and the tiny number of people who’ve actually seen one… is it any wonder that they could exist in the southern swamps and pocosins without being seen?
